There was an excited buzz in the air, hotel staff running around to make sure we had everything we needed. Neil and I had a quick chat about the content and structure. We have worked together before so there was a familiar kind of knowing how things were going to be. Something which is rare and unique in the world of co-facilitation.
We got started and stuck into the content, introduction etc etc. Outside the weather was in our favour and cattle wandered by in the field we could view out of the window. Towards the end of the morning Lori McPherson the Deep Tissue Massage Therapist knocked on the door. This was the first time I had met her but her friendly face was a relief. "So everyone was going to get their well deserved Deep tissue massages, hopefully that would relieve some of the tension and stress that people had arrived with".
We had lunch which was fun and excellent food. Rest after lunch and some more Deep Tissue Massages and Mindfulness facilitated by Neil. As we got stuck into the afternoon the Emotions stepped up a pace looking at Self-Compassion. This is a heart warming and emotional topic. We so need to be kind to ourselves!
Time for walking around the grounds, check in’s to the rooms, maybe some swimiming for some and arrival of the Yoga teacher Alison Sidaway. Horray!! Wow she is such a bubble of energy but in a calming and yoga -ish type of way. We did Kundalini opening of the Chakra’s heart and base of spine, then chanting, lying down under our blankets for a bit of Meditation- wow she had come prepared!!
So the day ended being truly relaxing with a bit of down time before the feast of a dinner of scrumptious food.
Day 2 we started the day with Yoga. The next group was Visions and Values. Another lovely lunch and now the suitcases returned to sitting in the corner of the group room. A stark reminder that we were on the home straight.
I felt so priveleged to be in the presence of these wonderful women who had put their all into the weekend. It felt sad, we were all going home after a powerful and enlightening weekend and experience.
Love and light.
Here are what some people said about the Retreat…..
“It teaches you how to develop and maintain ‘good habits’, and because you learn that they help, making a commitment to them becomes easier. You have to practice though, e.g Mindfulness”. Lorna
“Connecting with yourself and others. Empowering”. Pamela
“If you are on a journey to find yourself, looking for inspiration and help, direction. This is the weekend for you”. Helen
“Soul Searching and Life Changing event- definitely worth it, give yourself the time and compassion”. Judy
